Does anyone know some programs I can use to do drum programming on? Preferably freeware if possible (I don't have too much money to spend right now).

ha! no such thing as a good free drum machine!
try a basic version of Acid and use single shots. It is a bit limited, but it will only run you about $30

Some might suggest living a pirate's life and downloading something like ableton off a torrent. Not me though, I would never advocate such a thing...

Single shots are the individual drum sounds. They're small drum samples with just a single hit. You can place each drum sound on a separate track and 'draw' each hit in where you want it. It's kind of limited, the sound you get is what you get. the dynamics would suffer greatly, but for a cheap and easy/basic drum program, this would be it. You can still change the volumes of each hit to make it sound a little less programmed, but it is very time consuming. This is just how I did it before I picked up Reason. and before that I programmed my drums on a Roland XP-50. (even more time consuming than Acid.)

Pretty much your best bet if free is your requirement: http://www.threechords.com/hammerhead/hotstepper.shtml
Similar to iDrum, but not as intuitive or fun. And it's for Windows.

Hey Munkey, how do you get the toms on that thing. I'm trying to draft out a drum intro to a song, and I can't find them.

Drumsite seems good to me. It costs $55 dollars though, and you can't save your files in the demo version...
Still, $55 isn't too bad.
