i dont know how many of you know of this, but david played on this cd, it came out a while ago. Its some of the members of spiral architecht, and david

id have to say its his best playing hes done. its extremely technical, and just an amazing cd, with CLEAN lyrics. every song on the cd is amazing, and the guitars are very technical, and progressive, and very melodic at the same time, and the clean singing is a nice change. i strongly recomend it for any metal fan! or fan of extol/ david's drumming

I LOVE this cd. I like it better than the Spiral Architect cd. I'd say it's about 2nd on my best of 2006.

Is the dude from Extol not a christian anymore? I'm not asking that because he is in a mainstream band, I am asking that because i dont know anything about him. So PLEASE do not take this question as me thinking Christians can't play mainstream.

Well, that really is what your question sounds like.

of coarse davids a christian... when they came to baltimore I talked to peter and him about there personal lives... david was MUCH easier to understand haha

yes he is a christian listen to aperture and you will understand... aperture is a worship band that he is involved with.

just cause one plays in a band thats not a "christian" band dosent change him... I make windows for a living but im not a chrisitian window maker... I am a window maker... I dont think bands should profess themselves as "christian band" there selling christ.

I think its better to be a christian in a band with great lyrics that are posiitive and uplifting

Dude, step off. I have been into extol for about 3 months and had no idea what the band members personally lives were these days. I knew they were christians (its very obvious, I have the Undeceived album and the lyrics are great) I just didnt know if he joined the band just to play music for the fun of it, or to get away from the Christian scene. People have done it to get away from the Christian thing before. My questioning was not against him/his faith in any way.

Twisted into Form is one of my favorite bands at the moment. I absolutely love everything from Extol and Spiral Architect, so Twisted into Form was the natural succession. David is still of course a Christian, but you have to realize that Extol has never technically been a "Christian band". What they always say is that they just happen to write lyrics about what is important to them, and their faith is what is important to them, but they consider themselves just a band that happens to write about Christianity and faith. I have no problem with Christians playing in secular bands as long as those secular bands don't have lyrics that are contrary to their Christian morals.

Oh, and for those of you who like TiF, do yourself a favor and check out Spiral Architect. "A Sceptic's Universe" is a very similar release, although unlike TiF, every single song is amazing, while there's a song or 2 on TiF that I don't especially like. "A Sceptic's Universe" has lyrics about naturalism and comes from the point of a sceptic, but I actually don't find it in the least offensive to my faith. Unlike most non-Christian bands challenging religion, Spiral Architect does it in a very open sort of way and isn't trying to offend people, only ask questions, which I think is a very valid thing for them to do as non-Chrsitians.

I thought the Twisted Into Form was better than A Sceptic's Universe.

OK, let's calm down a little here. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. OK, good.

You seem to have taken offense where none was intended, or as far as I can tell implied. I made a simple comment and I think you took it the wrong way.

I think Twisted into Form was simply intended as a release for fans of SA before SA actually makes another cd. It's good and I think the drumming is better actually, but the rest of the album is not as strong as SA.

Part of the reason why I don't visit and post in the Christian Metal forum here is because I'm sure I'd piss some people off pretty easily if I forgot to hold back on my opinions.

Not to get us back on topic or anything...but from what I've heard of TIF, they're really cool. I love how their stuff is so technical, but still really listenable. Good indeed.

reminds me of old extol only with crapy vocals.
