I don't think I'll ever see them live. They play for too big crowds, play about 1/3 of terrible songs in their set, and just don't play very well either. I'll stick with watching pro-shot DVD bootlegs.

I might, if I can scrape together the cash, but I doubt it...who are they touring with?

10 years ago, this would have been awesome. But I just can't enjoy the new stuff.

And Justice For All is still my favorite. The "black album" was all right. There were a few songs here and there on Load/Reload that I thought were fairly decent, but they just weren't Metallica. Point being, I like a few, but either way, I'd take Load or Reload any day over the garbage they pushed out afterwards.

IMO, the few that I heard from St. Anger was better than the few I heard from Load, Reload and Metallica (excluding sandman, unforgiven, nothing else). I'll borrow the 4 cds from my friend though and listen to them.

Man, they're legends, who cares if they're not as good as they used to be?

I'd rather see pay less to see Alcoholica in a less crowded place. At least the guy would be albe to play the solos, and I wouldn't be like a mile away from the stage.

I would actually change the thought, being that Rob coming in will add more to them, that they can pursue even the heavy stuff again! They are still in my top 10 bands ever....

Have you seen them play since then? Rob is probably the only that isn't sloppy live. I'd go see them for sure, but not it this means I have to pay more than $30 or watch them play outside.

I have not seen them play for a while now, but I just have this feeling man....we have to believe in our metallic brothers...:D

I just think I have given up on Metallica. There are some cool songs on Ride the Lightning, Master, Justice, and even the Black album, but they have really lost whatever they used to have.

Every interview with Lars now has him talking about how the new bands like Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine are making them want to step up their game and whatever.

I'm thinking, man if you guys still had the fire and the chops to do this you wouldn't be looking at two bands that are basically ape-ing your sound from the eighties!

Hopefully Rick Rubin will whip them back into shape. Fifteen years of crap is quite enough.
What ever happened to Flemming Rasmussen? Is he dead?

If there's anyone who can whip them back into shape now, it's Rubin...here's hoping for the best.

the last good metallica cd was the black album.from there back = classic.everything after the black album = lackluster,at best.

I first started getting into them when "Justice.." was released. At the time i thought it was the best thing ever. When the Black album came out i was disappointed, even then you could tell they were heading in the wrong direction IMO.

I will be interested to check the new one out though.
