Resident Evil: Extinction

While alot of people were disappointed in the Resident Evil movies, frankly I enjoyed them alot. So I decided to look up and see when the next movie will be coming out.

It is slated for 2007 and I can't wait. Then when I found out who will be playing Claire Redfield my excitement was even more. Ali Larter will be Claire. She played in Varsity Blues and Final Destination.

Anyway, discuss if you like, if not then........don't. :D

I disliked the RE movies for the same reason that most Final Fantasy fans disliked Final Fantasy: Spirits Within--decent enough movie, if not for the name.

The RE films have had absolutely nothing to do with the games except that there are indeed zombies created by a virus outbreak developed by Umbrella Co. None of the same characters or plots. The one exception to this is in the second movie...we get Nemesis (and the same outfit that Jill Valentine wore, even though that character is not in the films). That was pretty cool and a definite nod to RE3.

I'd love to see a better game-to-film version of this franchise that sticks much closer to the source material, but it most likely will never happen.

I think it's almost kinda sad when a game can tell a story many times better than Hollywood, given the budgets and talents involved. Too many directors and producers want to twist everything around to make it "theirs" instead of paying tribute to an amazing gaming franchise. I believe the end result suffers because of it.

I really like this series as well though I get alot of crap for it since most of my friends really like the games and can only see it in that light. If you get over the fact that it's not like the game then I think it has a nice plot line. I loved the first two but I didnt' realize they were coming out with another so thanks for the heads up.
